Your Dashboard should act as your visual prompt to take action - it’s very visual and lights up the closer you get to any deadline. If you’re Dashboard looks like this, then you help asap!
The Dashboard is screaming at me that items are overdue and I need to stop what I’m doing and take action - realistically, it could be that we’ve not moved the job cards forwards, but then you’re overdue on your housekeeping of Engager!
How you choose to see your services and groups is entirely up to you, so let’s see what we can do to customise your Dashboard.
First things first, these groupings are called Widgets - they contain the data from your services that have been GROUPED together - so if you panic wondering why you don’t have a Service appearing on the Dash, it’s because you’ve not created a GROUP to house them - head to Settings - Jobs - Service Groups and create from there
If you want to change the order of the Widgets, all you need to do it click and hold your left mouse button down, once you’ve selected a white space within a Widget - then drag and drop
If you want to streamline what you see and have a more minimalist Dashboard, head to the Cog for your Settings
From here you play with the settings to change what is displayed or hidden, by changing the EYE icon
Widget Wizardry
You can even change the number of days that the Widget is looking ahead - if the example below, my Self Assessment Widget is looking 7 days head, compared to my Limited Company Widget which is set to 30 days
Simply select the ? Icon
From this screen, you can change your number of days, but also, by selecting the RED overdue items, it will take you directly into those Self Assessment that require your immediate attention.
Adding Countdowns
You can get creative with countdowns, adding notes and anything else you can think of that you’d like to have to act as a visual reminder.
A great example could be Self Assessment Countdown, or Month End
All you would need to do is select ‘+new countdown’ and then enter your countdown details:
Adding Notes
Similarly for notes to appear like below
Just select ‘+ new quick note’
Metric Mastermind
You can also have some great Metrics running across the bottom of the Dash for you and your staff to see
In Self Assessment times, if you’re aiming to complete 10 a day, you can set this as a Metric then update in the morning actual vs goal - below, we’re off the pace - time to address what’s going on or reshuffle some workloads
Or even a monetary Metric, if you’re trying to set revenue targets like the example below
All you need to do is head to the PLUS sign on My Metrics, to start building your own.
We’ve thought of a lot of options for you to play with, so have fun, get creative and use these as visual prompts for you and your business
