Do I need 2 letters of engagement for a Director and LTD
Quick answers to help you get the most out of Engager
With Engager, we're always trying our best to keep you on the straight and narrow, whether it be steering you to have a letter of engagement per legal entity, or making sure your automated emails are received not reported as spam - we're here to keep you on track and performing well and on the up and up.
As Johann often says 'Just because you can go past 70MPH in a car doesn't make it legal - just because a software let's you do something doesn't mean it's right'
So, with that in mind, we strongly recommend that you have a Letter of Engagement (LOE) for each legal entity in your Engager account.
Most of you will look after a LTD with 1 Director - that's 2 legal entities, meaning they should both have their own LOE - even the notion of LTD, is limited by liability, so it makes perfect sense to have the 2 separate.
Additionally, it gets a little more complicated having the Director's personal tax affairs paid for by the company - that's a Benefit in Kind (BIK) all day long - are you going to remember to do this via the P11D(b)?
So, keep things separate
1 - have the SATR service turned on for the Director / Individual not the LTD
2 - Issue a LOE for the LTD and one for the Director
